Dad Rolling in it

Dinner bread rolls

Dinner rolls are an amazing way for any dad to step up his dinner game, because they look so complicated and taste so good.

As a dad I sometimes need to step it up and for me, that can mean, making dinner right when I walk through the door from work. Because of that, I make dinner rolls.  Dinner rolls are an amazing way to accomplish that.

One great trick I have in the kitchen, is to make a full meal out of something simpler; for example, I will make scrambled eggs for dinner, add to it salad, and dinner rolls.

Dinner rolls change the entire feel of the meal because they are more filling and most importantly, they’re fun.

So here us an easy dinner idea that any dad can make easily.

First: Make sure that your oven is on. Set it to 350 F or 180 C because you don’t want to stick rolls into a cold oven.

Then start making the rolls, be careful because precision is important with these so pay attention!

Dinner Rolls  – Ingredients

  • 1 Cup  – Warm water (body temperature)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tbs yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3.5 cups flour

Dinner Rolls – Steps

Now that you know what goes into the rolls, you can follow the directions on how to make them

  1. Mix together the Water, oil, yeast, and sugar.
  2. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes
  3.  Add the rest of the ingredients
  4. Add  the flour gradually and mix well.
  5. Shape the dough into balls (should make about 12 depending on the size). I normally flatten them a little before I place them on the pan
  6. Cover them with a towel and let them sit for 10 minutes
  7. Place in the oven for 10 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  8. Serve some scrumptious dinner rolls for dinner!
